something i see/hear every day:

"the market's too saturated"

this shit always comes from very talented editors too.

y’all are convinced there's "too many editors" now.

here's the thing tho...

last week i turned down 3 projects. literally said no to money because i'm booked.

Dani? same thing. getting messages like "when's your next availability?" instead of "what's your rate?"

so if it's "saturated" why are good editors booked solid?

because "saturation" is only real at the bottom.

yeah, there's a million editors charging $20-50 fighting over scraps. that market IS saturated.

but editors who position themselves right? who understand psychology? who make content that actually prints views?

we're playing a different game entirely.

it's like saying "restaurants are saturated" while looking at mcdonald's.

meanwhile the steakhouse down the street has a 3-week waitlist.

different games. different rules. different results.

the editors complaining about saturation are the same ones with generic demo reels, no personality in their content, and portfolios that look like everyone else's.

of course u feel invisible when u look like everyone else.

but that's not a market problem. that's a positioning problem.

anyway. just wanted to share that bc i'm tired of talented editors giving up for the wrong reasons.

yo this is gonna hurt but you need to hear it...

a while ago i was reviewing edits from my students and noticed something wild. the ones charging $50 were technically BETTER than the ones charging $500+💀💀

like their transitions were cleaner. color grading was perfect. effects were smooth asf

it gets dark bruh…

the $500+ edits weren't as "pretty" but they understood something the others didn't:

clients don't give a fck about your seamless transitions if the video doesn't make them money.

i watched one editor spend 6 hours perfecting a 3-second transition. meanwhile another editor made a "rough" edit that got 2.1M views and prolly landed him a few big clients

guess who got paid more?

this is the performance vs polish paradox. and it's killing talented editors every single day.

what actually matters to clients:

did it stop the scroll? (first 3 seconds)
did it trigger emotion? (not impressed, FELT something)
did it drive action? (views into customers)

your perfect color grade means nothing if nobody watches past second 4.

for my audience Christmas came early!

i’m sure you remember the 2-week challenge i ran when i landed a high paying client

(if you don’t rmb go refresh your memory, i documented it on my IG)

so obviously the only reason why it was possible for me is because my edits went viral.

and y’all constantly ask me about this. going viral this, going viral that.

truth is, going viral is NOT complicated at all when you know what to do.

don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy. you gotta work and actually be good at editing.

but it’s not rocket science either.

most people don’t know it, but there’s a difference between viral content, and well… just content

and i admit it, i used some industry secrets during this challenge.

honestly, i’ve been using them with all my videos.

i broke down 4 of them in a document, and today i’m giving it away for free as an early Christmas gift to y’all.

if you read it and actually start using this info, going viral will be a lot easier for you.

listen, i need to tell you something dark about this industry.

my old editing friend didn't just quit because he couldn't get clients.

he quit because he watched me go from WORSE than him to making $3K+ per edit while he was still struggling to get one “okay” client.

that shit will break your spirit.

the editing industry is legit a graveyard of talented people who had the skills but not the strategy.

my DMs are FULL of editors saying:

"i'm better than people charging 10x more"
"my work is fire but nobody sees it"
"i don't understand what i'm missing"

you're missing THE SAME THING my friend missed:

skills don't attract clients. POSITIONING does.

while you're perfecting that transition for the 5th time, someone with half your talent is closing $2,000 deals.

why? Because they understand the game.

my friend thought being good was enough. he thought clients would somehow "find" his talent. he thought the market would be "fair."

the market doesn't give a FUCK about fair.

the market rewards those who understand attraction over desperation.

in 6 months, you're either gonna be charging 10x more, or you're gonna be another talented editor who "used to edit."

no middle ground. this industry is evolving too fast.

the method i created? it flips everything.

no more DMing
no more begging
no more competing on price

clients come to YOU ready to pay premium.

but honestly? most of you will read this, feel a little uncomfortable, and go back to your struggle.

just like my friend did.

and in a year, you'll be telling people how the industry is "oversaturated" while my students are booked solid at $1,500+ minimum.

the question is: which story do you want to tell?

i'm dropping another chance to apply for the mentorship on monday for 2 more people.

but if you're comfortable with your current situation, don't apply.

i can't watch another talented editor quit because they refused to learn the game.
