βͺοΈIn 2022, a case was registered in Munger, Bihar, alleging that a young woman had been abducted and raped. Based on these allegations, an accused man was arrested and sent to jail.
βͺοΈRecently, the same woman wrote to the President of India and the High Court, stating that the allegations were completely false.
βͺοΈShe clarified that neither any abduction nor any sexual assault had taken place.
βͺοΈAccording to her, the story was allegedly fabricated by her mother along with a few others with the intention of claiming compensation, which ultimately led to an innocent man being imprisoned.
During the hearing, Justice B. V. Nagarathna made a significant observation, stating that βwhere there is a matrimonial dispute, POCSO is misused.β This remark highlights the Courtβs concern regarding the potential misuse of child protection laws in personal disputes.

In Ritu Khatri v.
