The concept of the citizen soldier runs deep in the history of the west. Communities have always relied on ordinary men who could hunt, track, and fight when needed.

German jägers were citizens that were skilled marksmanship and eventually light infantry tactics, in colonial America minutemen were always ready to leave their farms at a moment’s notice, the colonial rangers are the reason we have guerrilla warfare today.

None of these groups were paid full time professionals, but they carried local knowledge, independence, as well as a sense of duty and honor. Over time, that tradition fed into more state funded regulated organizations like the national guard and reserves, but the idea of private people who live normal lives and step forward when their community or country calls will always live in the American spirit.

There seems to be a common theme where people don't want to post because they don't have "anything important enough" but if you look at boomer forums they have general threads just talking about weekend plans and sharing dumb pictures, so it's not that serious.

Not only can a group’s capabilities can be greatly enhanced with ATAK, but so can a family.

ATAK/iTAK (iTAK sucks) are powerful mapping tools that give you tools for navigation, terrain mapping, and heads up on where your teammates or family members are. Since ATAK is open source, there are a ton of plugins that can be found and used that are useful to you. At this time iTAK can’t run plugins unfortunately, so you’re stuck with a more barebones version.

Family readiness plans can easily integrate ATAK/iTAK and a server can be shared by those that have either or, giving you positional updates to anyone on it.

During the hurricane last year that wiped out a ton of North Carolina, and the recent storms, it’s more and more useful to be able to check someone’s location even outside of squad size + stuff in the woods.

An ATAK server takes a little bit to set up, and if you’re doing something with a group in a place where service isn’t there, mesh networks can be utilized to keep short range positional data up to date.

Even when service is off, your phone still functions as a GPS to give you your location, and makes you able to be much quicker when seeing your azimuth and distance to objectives, especially once they’re dropped and shared.

Objective rings, ruler tools, shapes, overlays, etc. all have useful utility with the mil/LEO and adjacent (civ training) crowds, but integrating it with your family plan is a wise idea, and you can bounce between servers as needed.

No, it will not cause an immediate rocket strike on your position if you unlock your phone with ATAK on it.

Due to some issues with drop shipping and wanting to be able to provide a more high quality product since when we started, we're moving to having higher quality printed and inventoried shirts, but obviously there will be less overall options

The cost will be a bit higher due to higher cost of making each shirt, but the quality will be much higher.

Who would be interested in buying one, we'll likely start with 50 and see where we go, we're mainly just looking to gauge an interest in a higher quality shirt with live shipping for a slightly higher price
