NOTICE TO GRADUATING STUDENTS

COMMENCEMENT OF FINAL CLEARANCE FOR THE 15TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY

This is to inform all graduating students of Abeokuta Study Centre that the final clearance exercise in preparation for the 15th Convocation Ceremony of the National Open University of Nigeria will commence on Thursday 26th March 2026 at the Study Centre.

The Convocation Ceremony is scheduled to hold from Friday, 17 April to Saturday, 18 April 2026.

All graduands are advised to commence their clearance promptly to avoid last-minute delays.

Requirements for Final Clearance

Graduating students are required to present the following documents in three (3) copies each during the clearance exercise:

1. Student Clearance Form

2. Remita Payment Receipt of ₦55,000 (Convocation fee covering the hire of the academic gown, certificate folder, and other incidentals)

3. Evidence of Portal Clearance

4. Comprehensive E-Wallet Statement

Collection of Academic Gowns

Graduands who have successfully completed their programmes and have been duly cleared for convocation are required to sign for and collect their academic gowns and hoods from the Study Centre with effect from Thurday, 26 March 2026.

The following documents must be presented for verification at the point of collection:

1. Evidence of payment of ₦55,000.00 via Remita, covering the hire of the academic gown, certificate folder, and other incidentals.

2. A sum of ₦20,000.00, being a refundable gown hire deposit, will be refunded upon return of the gown, provided it is not torn or damaged. This applies to Undergraduate and Master’s graduands only.

3. For Doctoral graduands, evidence of payment of ₦100,000.00 being the prescribed fee for the outright purchase of the Doctoral academic gown, certificate folder, and other incidentals.

4. A duly completed and authenticated Clearance Form issued at the Study Centre.

5. A completed Alumni Membership Form, accessible via:
http://www.advancementlinkages.nou.edu.ng/

The printed form must be submitted to the Alumni Desk Officer at the Study Centre.

Return of Academic Gowns

All hired academic gowns and hoods must be returned to the Study Centre not later than Monday, 27 April 2026. The refundable deposit will be returned upon confirmation that the gown is not torn or damaged.

All graduating students are advised to comply with the above requirements and timelines.

CLARIFICATIONS ON THE 2026_1 SCIENCE PRACTICAL EXERCISE


Faculty of Sciences wish to make the following clarifications on the scheduled 2026_1 science
practical exercise:

1. Starting date for the practical exercise is 16th March, 2026.
2. The students that are required to conduct CIT104, CIT191, CYB191and MTH101/105 are
only those who wish to take these practicals at the Lagos Centre (in VI). All other students
meant for Ikorodu and Surulere Centres should go to their respective centres for the exercise.
3. While registering for the practicals using the link provided, students are advised to initially
study the table provided indicating the windows available and practical courses. A selection
of Yes/No under the item Register more courses? takes you through a cyclic process in
order to ensure registration of more courses.
4. Only the practical courses listed in the table will be conducted during the exercise.
