🖥 Time for a Little Confession

🎮 Guilty Pleasure isn’t our first project in game dev
And to be honest, when we started, we thought a visual novel would be the "chill" option
We were like: "Pfft, just draw some pretty art, stitch it together with text, and you’re done. How hard can it be?"

🖕 Yeah… sure...
Now, sitting here reading through the feedback on the latest chapters, we just want to go back in time and knock some sense into our past selves

The plot branching is absolutely insane
And the hardest part? You can’t write a game "like real life"
In real life, if you screw up, you just go to bed miserable. But in a visual novel, every screw-up has to be turned into content

👉 It’s a weird balancing act:
You have to punish players for making poor choices without leaving them high and dry. You need to make them regret their actions while ensuring they still get just as much emotion and story as they would on a "perfect" run.
That tiny detail is probably exactly what separates a bad story from a good one

Long story short: taking this on was a bold move - and a costly one, in terms of every resource we have
But it’s worth it to know that this Sunday, you can pour yourself a cup of tea and spend the evening in our Guilty Pleasure 💗

It was a bit of a struggle, but we’ve finally managed to get back into the groove.
Good thing we’ve had a ton of feedback pile up over the last couple of weeks - we definitely won’t be bored)
Plus, we really need to get cracking on Chapter 6, phew!

👉 I’ll tell you a secret though - the process is already moving full steam ahead!
Our beloved Anarysta basically ditched her vacation and spent the whole weekend creating our arts
