📌Proposal: BSF wants to use reptiles (snakes/crocodiles) as natural deterrents to prevent infiltration across riverine borders

📌Reality =Sundarbans already have reptiles-Yet infiltration persists-Natural deterrence alone is insufficient as Wildlife relocation often fails due to unfamiliar territory and Survival stress- even if it works..artificial concentration = imbalance-Increased human-wildlife conflict and Local communities (fishermen, villagers) will be at risk.

🅾️Deterrence theory=Works on rational actors, not wild animals-Ecosystems cannot be engineered as security infrastructure without unintended spillovers.

🅾️Note : In India, precious metals like gold and silver occupy a unique and often misunderstood position in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Unlike most Western economies that treat gold purely as an investment (and thus exclude it from inflation tracking), India classifies them as "consumption goods" because of their deep-rooted cultural and social role.

🅾️The basket now specifically tracks "Gold/Diamond/Platinum Jewellery" as a single item, reflecting modern consumption beyond just plain gold-Specifically under Personal Care and Effects.

⚠️Note that the weight of Gold has been slightly reduced,but the weight of Silver has nearly tripled in the new basket.

🌟Since precious metals are in the "Miscellaneous" group, they are retained in the Core basket- Global gold prices are driven by international wars, US Fed rates, and central bank buying—none of which reflect the "internal" demand of the Indian economy.

This ensures that the one-third reservation doesn't just benefit women from privileged backgrounds but promotes a diverse social composition in the Lok Sabha.

🅾️Impact of 10th schedule -

🅾️When writing the Constitution, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar didn’t think we needed term limits for the PM- The President is checked once every 5 years (elections). The Prime Minister can be checked every day - "No-Confidence Motion."

⚠️Issue : The article says this "daily check" is now broken because of the 10th Schedule. MPs must vote how their party leader (the PM) tells them to. If they don’t, they lose their job.

🅾️Impact : . The PM can stay forever, as long as they keep winning.

🅾️Solution

⚜️Option A: Change the law so MPs can vote "honestly" on whether the government should stay, without being fired by their party.

⚜️Option B: Pass a law that limits a PM to two or three terms (like the U. S. President).

⚠️Supreme Court ruled in the Stainislaus Case (1977) that this does not include a Fundamental Right to convert another person

🌟My personal advice : When writing a mains answer on this topic, maintain strict neutrality. learn to balance the State's obligation to prevent fraudulent conversions with the Individual's right to privacy and choice (referencing the Puttaswamy Judgment). Conclude by suggesting that while regulation may be necessary for public order, it must not become a tool for "majoritarian impulse" or "harassment of minorities."
