Stages and Music

Unlike classical festivals, our musical booking is done directly by our partner crews. We believe that giving them full control over every element of the floor leads to authentic and diverse experiences for our guests - truly making you feel like hopping between different sex-positive worlds.

fluidity will have two main floors, each hosting around 1,000 people. Alongside those, two smaller and more intimate dancefloors will cater to crowds of 200–400. Occasionally, we will also open an additional large indoor dancefloor with a raw, industrial feel.

Musically, we cover most major electronic genres - from House and Disco through Tech-House and Techno to Trance. Visit our partner crews' Instagram pages to get a feel for their individual styles.

Our understanding of sex-positive spaces

Before we discuss sexual expectations soon, we want to define what a sex-positive space means to us in the context of this festival.

Our goal is to create a space with more degrees of freedom than everyday life allows. We believe this intention leads to more personal expression - and through that, to more meaningful connections between people. Sexuality is one form of this expression. Not the only one, but one that most people enjoy and value in their lives.

Sex-positivity means we provide all the necessary infrastructure and awareness structures to enable open sexuality and create a safer space for exploration. It does not mean that sex is the center of all activities at fluidity. It should always be an option - and we want to make sure you'll have a great time even if you never take your clothes off.

We believe it can only work this way. Placing sexuality at the center of everything creates pressure, unrealistic expectations, and - most importantly - an unsafe environment.

About Workshops and Guided Spaces

Someone asked on Instagram whether they "have to participate in a workshop" - and it really made us think.

We are opening a space with a high degree of freedom compared to what most of us are used to in everyday life. Of course, some basic rules are needed to make this a safer space - but mandatory workshop participation cannot be one of them.

Let us be very clear: once you are inside fluidity, we will not make you do anything. We believe this is the absolute worst approach for an open space, and even more so for a sex-positive one. Participation is always your own choice. All workshops and guided spaces are designed so that you can leave at any time - no explanation needed, no hurdles to jump.

We also encourage you to check in with yourself regularly: "Do I really want to take part in this?" If the answer isn't a clear yes, consider stepping away. There will be other opportunities and places for exploration.

So why are we doing this?
We are creating an alternative reality for a weekend, where you can enjoy greater degrees of freedom than society usually allows. In order to create a safer space for expression, one layer of our awareness concept is to select our attendees. Our guests are not only consumers of a spectacle, but a contributing part of the overall vibe. It is important that our guests understand the space, its rules and principles, and are ready to express their needs and boundaries.

About the application process

Our goal is to create a space where everyone can enjoy greater freedom and expression than in everyday life. We don't want passive consumers of entertainment - every attendee is an active contributor to the community. Open sexuality should be a natural consequence of that openness, not the reason people show up.

This requires a shared understanding of the concept and some basic rules of engagement, which is why we have an application process. We want to get a feeling of who you are, what brings you here, and whether we're on the same page.

We use the word "feeling" intentionally: this is a subjective process and it won't be perfect. We're biased humans and we know it. To balance that out, a gender-neutral committee reviews applications, with each member voting independently and without seeing others' responses.

Let us discuss the phone policy at fluidity.

As you might know, taking pictures is not allowed in most sex-positive spaces. The reasons for that should be quite obvious. Some events and venues go further and ban phones altogether, which has the positive side effects of allowing people to be more present.

On the other hand you are all adults and not allowing phones inside the festival area is a direct infringement of your freedom. It also comes with some inconveniences, like finding your friends. Some people are also depending on their phones quite literally: diabetic people, parents with children, etc.

We want to hear your opinions on this.
